I also have been a facilitator for the “Gain” programme which is a series of workshops for teens and their parents.
I currently work in private practice where part of my work is contract work with ACC and also supervision.
To further enhance my previous qualifications I am committed to on going professional development.

Currently I work from Cambridge Terrace, Lower Hutt

I offer specialised counselling for physical injury, sexual abuse, trauma and other general counselling issues.
Therapy is an opportunity to:
Explore your emotions, thoughts and behavior  -  Plan and set goals  -  Improve your relationships
Reduce your stress  -  Develop your sense of well being  -  Do things differently

I believe you have the solutions to what holds you back and being in a safe space with time to reflect and process gives you the key to move forward.

Counselling can help you to ….
… gain emotional support or relief, through talking to an attentive listener.
… get information, make sense of your experience and to understand the influences of your past.
… explore your difficulties and concerns, and to develop more satisfying and resourceful ways of living.
Counselling cannot treat concerns that have a biochemical source.  These issues may also require medical or psychiatric assistance.
The frequency of counselling is usually weekly and each session normally lasts for 50 minutes.
My approach to counselling is eclectic, I have been trained in many theories and I use what suits best at the time.
I use client centred counselling, family systems,  cognitive behavioural theory, gesalt, motivational interviewing, trauma theory, feminist theory and interactive drawing therapy.
